PEARL Program
Personal Enrichment Activities for Responsible Living
As an organization, we strive to build an environment where our goals and purposes can be nurtured and fulfilled in a positive manner. This program is known as the Personal Enrichment Activities for Responsible Living – or PEARL Program.
Delta Phi Epsilon has identified five areas of development and personal growth among our members which cultivate a well-rounded and balanced woman. These areas are known as our five S’s – Scholarship, Self, Service, Sisterhood, and Social. Every active undergraduate member of DPhiE is expected to complete 21 PEARLs (or activities) each academic year. The purpose behind this is so that she can intentionally engage in activities that fulfill areas of each of the five S’s. By the end of the year, each woman will complete at least four PEARL’s associated with each S, in addition to a Personal Development Pearl (PDP). The PDP is a long term goal that a sister will work on over the course of the year. PDPs are focused around something that a sister wants to personally improve upon in her life. Examples of this would be learning to play an instrument, learning another language, train for a marathon at the end of the year, or perform in a community theater production. The possibilities are unique for each sister to support her in becoming the woman she wants to be!
Sisterhood

Social
Self
Scholarship

Social events are a time for us to get to know other students on our campus!
Examples of social pearls include, but are not limited to: attending a Hofstra Pride athletics game, attending mixers, participating in a campus organization's event.
We do not see ourselves simply as "members" of an organization. We are sisters who have made up this sisterhood. Sisterhood is what holds us all together, it brings us closer to one another. Whether we are a senior sister or a new member, our sisterhood bonds are stronger than your average friendship.
Examples of sisterhood pearls include, but are not limited to: having dinner with sisters, going to the movies together, attend a boat burning event!
We are students first. Scholarship is something of great importance to the sisters of our sorority. Deephers are proudly represented in numerous majors, honor societies, and more.
Examples of scholarship pearls include, but are not limited to: receiving an A on an exam, achieving a 4.0 semester GPA, meeting with a tutor, and more!
We all deserve to treat ourselves every now and then! Taking care ourselves is always important and it is something we shouldn't just shrug off for another day.
Examples of self pearls include, but are not limited to: attending a fitness class, getting a manicure, getting a waxing
Service
We produly sponsor four philanthropies and are always eager to participate in events geared towards supporting them! We are actively involved in our surrounding communities and take any opportunity to give back.
Examples of service pearls include, but are not limited to: attending a walk, participating in the Big Brother, Big Sister program, donating to a charity
